About Me:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has."
-Margaret Mead
I'm an eccentric artist, aptly nicknamed Phruit. My pen name is Lily Trindylle. I've more or less cut back my internet time, however, to pursue more tangible goals, so whatever you find under my pen name is liable to be ancient. I'm a high Soprano (I can't spell the actual term, sorry), and I like many kinds of music, including classical, alternative, Celtic, techno...you name it. I'm not fond of country or bluegrass. However, genres are pretty blurry to me, and are often little more than dubious labels anyways. It's easier to go by what I don't like, and then play the rest. I prefer live bands to the radio; there's something about a recording studio that falsifies and cheapens voices. Sing me something real.
My artistic style ranges from classical (oil, watercolor, pencil, ink, sculpture, and a touch of photography, for example) to anime/manga. I'm ever working on developing my artistic talent. I love to sketch my original fictional characters, and I have occasionally done commission work for other people as well. My big project now? Digital.
I love to horseback ride (English/Hunt Seat), and I like to drive my BMW (former BMWCCA member/autocrosser). I'm not your average girl; I've got two 12" subwoofers in my already small trunk in a custom box with an amp attached, and recently replaced rear speakers I blew so well (they say there's supposed to be felt in them or something, but I found no traces - not terribly familiar with all that).
I aspire to be a psychologist one day and a graphic artist now. Even as I pursued other venues, I found friends, sorority sisters, and loved ones coming to me for help with traumatic life issues. People drop their problems in my lap all the time -- why not counsel them properly (and make a living at that)? Graphic art? More than a hobby. Watch me flourish in both fields.
I am an alumnus of a very highly regarded international sorority, and I hold membership in two honor societies as well from my college days. That said, I hope to go back to school in the near future and excel even more with the realization that every note I take, every minute spent studying is another step toward a brighter future. Yes. Scary, but hopefully effective.
I'm a redheaded Sagittarius with a passion for many things in life. I'm highly opinionated and very much a type A personality and recognized leader, but I am also a lady, and (try to) carry myself appropriately.
My photography is meant to catalogue events, occasions, people, and loves in my life. Most often, my artwork and my pets are the subjects, though I've been known to photograph (other) objects of beauty, especially sunrises, sunsets, and other natural settings. Occasionally, I've consented to have MY photo taken as well, and a few images to that end have been posted here. Be gentle if you're going to comment on my appearance. I'm far more fragile than I'll ever let you see.
As for the eyes/hair dilemma, you'll find that a lot in anime and manga; I'm just going with it because it was too heartbreaking for me to hide my lines. My choice. ;)
More...uh, well...kinda got some commission work to be doing, so...not yet. Gomen nasai.
Thanks A! Are you paying? First class, please. ...Though are you sure you're not sending me to Japan? I have people waiting for me there....
Thanks Booker! :)
the strongest point for me is the flower pedal patterns throughout the picture. it enhances the pic quite a bit above just the figure.
the only minor quip i have is that the edges of the eyes are showing through the hair which looks unnatural.
so in summary this is really good! more more. it's been too long.
I'm still dragging my feet. ;)
Hmm, Soya...selection brush. I'm going to have to look into that; a friend has Elements, so I can compare. I just haven't done it up to this point...but my capacity is sure there.
It sounds like a fantastic time-saver. If I can find it, I'll let you know.
I miss you and your sweet booger of a kitty. Teach him well!
Thanks for visiting, Goo! There are some WONDERFUL artists here on Buzz, if you hadn't already figured that out (elsewhere...I'm no good). Visit, make friends, and have lots of fun! :)
Thanks...unfortunately, my current work is bombing. Don't waste your time on it. :(
Yes, O, pink sand....
Thanks, A, totally belated. Having a day off was nice, ne?
Thanks, Logger! It seems I'm better at inspiring others than actually doing anything of lasting significance myself. Perhaps I'm more of a muse?
At any rate...your suggestion is awesome. I've spent some time thinking about it. When time permits, I'm going to give that a shot as well. What fantastic suggestions -- thank you so much! :)
There's no way my ideas amount to much...don't put yours down like that.
thanks!
cool project..
how about making the light appear, uhmm.. more natural??? *just a thought* :))
